Conventional plotting of tide and water track for one hour.

Over long distances this is the normal technique taught on courses.

Plot the ground track from the start point right through the destination.

Calculate the tide and plot the tidal vector for one hour, from the start point.

From the end of the tidal vector, measure off the distance you expect the vessel to cover through the water in one hour.

Plot the water track and measure the bearing.
